Kate Timmis
My professional journey began in 1997 as I qualified as a Nursery Nurse acquiring my NNEB diploma at South Cheshire College.
I gained experience working with children and their families in my roles as a Nanny and Deputy Manager at a private day nursery. These roles lead me to joining the NSPCC in Crewe in 2002 as a Children’s Service Practitioner.

The role at the NSPCC has allowed me to gain valuable knowledge, experience and skills in an extensive range of interventions and support programmes, these include:

Parenting support and education – I have experience of delivering accredited parenting intervention on a group and 1:1 basis. This has included hard to reach parents that have previously been difficult to engage.

Participation/Youth engagement – lead practitioner for facilitating local groups and working collaboratively at a regional and national level.

1:1/Groupwork with children and young people – extensive experience of developing and delivering to children and young people aged between 5-16 years.

I live with my husband and 2 children, Connor 10 years and Izzy 8 years within the Cheshire East area.
